Ten Questions about Surface - Microsoft Tablet

Suffice to say that Microsoft still knows us some surprises, with the recent announcement of two tablets under his own label.

Microsoft is finally launching into battle with the iPad and Android tablets, it's not too early. It remains to verify if it is not already too late.

Some specs below:
  • Screen 10.6 ", 16:9, 1366 x 768 or 1920 x 1080 depending on model, with digital ink technology.
  • ARM processor or Intel Core i5.
  • Smart cover ultra-thin (3mm) with integrated keyboard (Big surprise, and very interesting concept)
  • 32, 64 or 128 GB of storage depending on the model.
  • The usual bunch of connectivity.
  • RT Windows 8 or Windows Pro 8 depending on the model.
But what interests us even more eventually ... this is what we do not know yet. Curiosity is not a bad thing, at least not here, know it!

Here are some unknowns that remain, and that can make all the difference:

Why did you choose to build it yourself?
Simple idea of replicating Apple's success, lack of partnership strong enough, or real awareness of the advantage of better integrating hardware / software for this type of product?

This is certainly taking a risk for Microsoft, but this primer can be a real shift in its strategy.

Because depending on the success of this new experience for the brand, can we expect to see land in the future of the famous branded smartphones window?

The price
Undoubtedly this is crucial point. With iPad from $500, and 10 tablets Android "from $440, the positioning must be carefully chosen Microsoft.

Especially since technically, the area does not bode revolutionary. Its look relatively sexy, and the quality of Windows 8 will probably do not know the difference if the fare is not sufficiently aggressive.

The release date
Windows 8 is not out yet, and its launch date is not even known yet. One can imagine that the OS will be released before the tablet surface, or why not at the same time to create the event.

In all cases it should be rather at the end of the year ... is also at the same time as Windows Phone 8, 2012 will be a crucial year for Microsoft.

What will the reaction of other manufacturers Windows 8 tablets?
Windows, unlike Android, is not free to hardware manufacturers, and the price of the license may be an important part of the final price of a tablet.

Now that Microsoft itself enters the competition, this new competition will hold back the development of other tablets on Windows?

Are we facing an iPad killer?
Microsoft will win there where all the major electronics manufacturers have so far failed?

Hard to imagine. The iPad since its release is the undisputed market shelves, it may take time, or a truly revolutionary concept for a new product come on down from its pedestal.

Still, if this tablet and future OS from Microsoft is the starting point of a true revival of the Redmond Company, why it could not begin to worry about the Apple Tablet.

And tablets for Android?
The consumer craze for tablet embedded on Google OS is not the same as for smart phones. Have a unified user experience between the tablet and the PC can be a convincing argument to attract customers?

What integration of the XBOX and KINECT?

Microsoft is curiously silent on possible interactions with its flagship products, which in my opinion could yet be powerful selling points. The hope of course that Xbox side the synchronization system Smart Glassis the game.

As for the KINECT there may be issues to resolve miniaturization, but I dream of incorporating this technology directly into a tablet, for gesture control remotely. Should there be two waiting area?

A risk of confusion between different versions of Windows 8?
Windows 8 RT is not Windows 8 , but just the part at the interface Metro, unable to run applications compatible only. Microsoft must really communicate on the subject to avoid frustration and discontent of its customers.

What about 16:9?
This choice of screen ratio and actually quite surprising, while the standard imposed by Apple is the 4/3.Another way to stand out?

I read a lot of negative comments on blogs about the U.S. Microsoft's option, in terms of grip and comfort reading. It will probably wait until the tablet between your hands to form a true opinion, the ease of use is always a subtle combination of many parameters.

Is she sexy enough to seduce the audience?
I think the aspect of "pleasure shopping" is still very present in the tablets. It is incomparable with smartphones and computers. To its place in this market, the products must be complete, efficient ... and sexy.
While it is impossible to predict the future of the tablet surface, I think Microsoft is headed in the right direction. As he has done to revive its Windows Mobile system. As provided for Windows 8, even if it does not go far enough for my taste.

Tastes and colors do not discuss, I personally find the sight of some pictures and videos presented this future tablet something to please. Even more: as its interface with Metro, the site dedicated to space , the video presentation, this is the whole image of Microsoft changing that dramatically.

It is modern, bright and clean. In the style of a famous competitor, but I see for myself here as a fresher, more fun. Apple is becoming more "mainstream", Microsoft can be seen as a challenger brand new?
I cannot resist the urge to you retake the introductory video area:

What do you think at first glance of this New Surface Tablet
